Handling Disputes

Posted by admin

The worst situation that could happen besides the bankruptcy of your business is dispute led by your employees. There are a lot of situations that could lead to dispute. Wage increase that the employees are requesting but the management has failed to give, new policies that employees deem to be unfair, firing of a certain employee who won the sympathy of his co-workers and several others.

Dispute sometimes affect the business where it could lead to temporary shutdown of the company that could affect the profit. On the other hand, it could affect the employees involved leaving them unemployed with no source of income to survive.

It is important that the management should mediate and control the dispute to prevent grave effects especially to the profit of the business. The management should exert effort to determine the root cause of the dispute. It is not a wise move to blame everything on the employees and implement disciplinary actions immediately. The deciding body of the company should ask questions such as: What led to the specific serious action? Is the management responsible for something? Is there something that the management failed to do? From the answers to these questions, the deciding body must determine the wisest action to implement.
